Start Here

BrickNPlate is a place for thoughtful LEGO reviews, analysis, and the occasional deep dive.

I’m an Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL), a builder, and someone who enjoys thinking carefully about why sets work (or don’t): the build experience, the display value, the design tradeoffs, and sometimes the data behind it all.

This isn’t a news site, and it’s not a posting-on-a-schedule kind of blog. I write when there’s something worth unpacking.

What You’ll Find Here

Most posts fall into a few buckets:

Reviews

Long-form looks at specific LEGO sets — not just whether they’re “good,” but:

  • How they build
  • How they display
  • What kind of builder they’re really for
  • Where they shine and where they fall short

Analysis & Data

Sometimes impressions deserve a second look. When that happens, I’ll pull in data — pricing trends, piece counts, theme comparisons — and explore what actually holds up. Some posts include interactive charts or tables so you can explore alongside me.

Essays

Occasionally, I’ll zoom out:

  • How LEGO design has changed
  • What makes a set age well
  • Why certain themes resonate more than others

What This Site Is Not

  • Not exhaustive coverage of every release
  • Not affiliate-first or hype-driven
  • Not optimized for speed or volume

The goal here is clarity, not clicks.

About the Name

BrickNPlate started as a place to build LEGO on stream, talk casually, and enjoy the hobby. This site is a quieter extension of that idea — a place to set finished thoughts on the shelf once they’re complete.

Where to Go Next

If you’re new here, a good place to start is: A recent Review Or a post tagged Analysis / Data If something sparks your curiosity, stick around. If not, that’s okay too — LEGO should be enjoyable, not noisy. Thanks for reading.
